Backed Sofia Arvidsson in play to beat Ursula Radwanksa in the WTA tournament going on in Brussels.  I backed her when up 54 on serve in the first set and she managed to win 75 64. I put 67 Euro @ 1.57 to nett me a profit of 36.62 Euros.

I stayed in Brussels for my other two markets today where Kaia Kanepi beat Tsventlana Pironkova 63,61 to gain me a profit of 15.19 Euros. The other match was Agnieszka Radwanksa defeat of  Alison Van Uytvanck 62,61 to nett me a profit of 9.51 Euros.

Well foolishly I got involved in another market this evening as one of my failings came back to haunt me and because of boredom I quickly found myself in trouble in Brian Baker’s 3rd set tiebreak win over Mikhail Kukushkin.  I done a lot of trades in this match and not one of them good as I got myself into more and more trouble with the nett result a loss of 195.50 euro.  I am sick and fuming with myself for this and for undoing all the good work I had been doing and wiping out the last 8 days profit.  But I must remember to try get my emotions back under control, forget about the loss and keep going slow and steady again.

Day 26 – 23 May 2012

Tennis

I was involved in two WTA tennis matches today from Strasbourg today.  The first was Alexandra Panova ‘s 3 set win over Lucie Hradecka 63,46,63 with a profit of 16.63 Euro’s. The second match I was involved in was Sweden’s Johanna Larsson’s straight set rout of Tamira Paszek 62,60 for a profit of 19.73 Euro’s.

That’s all the markets I will be involved with today as I am of to the hospital to visit a very close friend who is seriously ill at the moment.  She is the same age as my ( early 30s ) so is quite young to be going through what she is.  Having being seriously ill myself 6 years ago and been near death I know what her and her family must be going through.  It puts all this into perspective and there is not a truer saying then “Your Health is Your Wealth”.

Day 25 – 22 May 2012

Tennis

Shuai Peng v Sofia Arvidson – Done a couple of trades in this as Sofia won in straight sets 75,63 for a profit of 9.03 Euros.

Monica Niculescu v Sania Mirza –  Niculescu won 61,75 for a profit of 5.85 Euros.

Francesca Schiavone v Alexandra Cadantu – Backed Schiavone pre match @ 1.4 and greened out @ 1.17 and @ 1.13 as she won in two comfortable sets 61,62.  Schiavone’s favourite surface is clay but she has been having a dire year this year barely able to win a match as she is approaching the twilight of her career.  She is a great player to watch , has a variety of shots and an outstanding one handed back hand coupled with her speed around the court and the angles she creates, makes her one of the more enjoyable players to watch.  She won and shocked many pundits by winning the French Open in 2010 and I for one am pleased that when her career is over she will be able to look back with joy on this moment one which a lot of great players down the years where never able to achieve. Profit 11.89 Euros.

Day 24 – 21 May 2012

Tennis

Well it’s the week before the second grand slam of the year , the French Open and I am back after 4 days away.  I got involved in Pauline Parmentier’s straight sets win over Sabine Lisicki in Strasbourg today, I done a few trades both good and bad and when I ended up basically back to scratch I left it there as I felt exhausted and didn’t want to make any mistakes. Profit 0.62 euro.

I woke up this morning to check out today’s action and catch up with what was happening over the weekend and to my surprise and delight I found out that the Rome Master’s final which should have been played yesterday but was cancelled due to rain and so was played this morning. It was between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic  , the two best players on the planet so I was looking forward to watching it.  Nadal won in straight sets with some brilliant tennis and I hope these two meet in the final at Roland Garrois in a couple of weeks time. Profit 23.34 euro

Day 19 – 16 May 2012

Tennis

All my action involved the WTA today as well as yesterday.  Sometimes that’s just the way it works, I have no particular preference, it’s all depending on the odds and the opportunities that I feel are good chance to profit even if it may not work out that way!!!

First up I fancied Flavia Pennetta to dispatch the young American Sloane Stevens.  I thought Flavia played some good tennis yesterday against Kirilenko and she went on to win 62,63 although the second set was a lot more competitive than the first. I backed her @ 1.24 for a profit of 11.41 euro.

Next up I thought Caroline Wozniacki would beat Anabel Medina Garrigues. Although Caroline the former world number one is struggling for form and confidence, or as some suggest her mind is not fully focused on tennis but rather her famous boyfriend Rory McIlroy, I still fancied this was a good match up for her.  Anyway I was wrong and she fell behind in the first set 4-0 before a late rally saw her lose the set 64.  There was no live action here for me to judge, rather scoreboard watching but at this stage I started trading and reducing exposure resigning myself to a losing market.  Woz fell behind 4-0 again in the second set before retiring with a respiratory illness and a loss for me of 33.57 euro.

I then traded both the William’s sisters matches both with good results for me.  First up Serena beat Nadia Petrova in a hard fought 3 sets where I think Serena may have had some injury.  Profit 21.42

Venus Williams beat Ekaterina Makarova 76,61 for a profit of 21.01.

I will be away now until late Sunday night so there will be no blog updates or trading activity until next Monday at least.

Day 18 – 15 May 2012

Tennis

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova V Petra Kvitova – Straight sets win for Petra in a very poor match. Profit 11.51 euro

Sorana Cirstea V Jelena Jankovic – Cirstea won in a 3rd set tiebreaker. Profit 7.60 euro

Maria Kirilenko v Flavia Pennetta – Pennetta won in straight sets. Profit 11.67 euro

Dominika Cibulkova  v Mirjana Lucic – Cibby thumped Lucic in straight sets. Profit 5.96 euro

Sorry for the short update tonight as I haven’t much time on my hands, some days it will just be like that.  In a strange quirk I somehow made the exact same profit as I did yesterday after commission!!!!
